No. You confirm the printed date yourself or choose a date you want to monitor. The app performs no OCR and makes no freshness or food-safety determination.

Frequently asked questions
Where are photos and records stored?
Within the current 1.0 release scope, ingredient and package photos, meal photos, dates, meals, and creations stay in the app sandbox. There is no account or cloud sync.
Does Pretty Meal upload photos to an AI service?
Not in the current release build. Pretty Meal exposes only on-device layouts and visual effects and does not call remote or generative AI. If cloud AI photo processing is enabled later, the privacy policy, processing notice, and consent flow will be updated first.
How can I export or delete my content?
Profile > App Settings provides a JSON export without photos and an option to clear local content. Uninstalling deletes the app sandbox on that device; system backups are controlled by Apple and your device settings.
Why does the app request notification permission?
Notifications are used only for local ingredient attention dates and meal-inspiration reminders that you enable. The current build does not obtain a remote push token.
Are calorie and nutrition details professional advice?
No. Meal nutrition and calories are entered by the user or presented as general editorial estimates. They are not medical diagnosis, treatment, or personalized nutrition advice.
